In an increasingly digital world, the handwritten note remains one of the most meaningful forms of communication. Led by Elizabeth Sheeler, founder of Prima Materia and a graduate of the Positive Psychology program at the University of Pennsylvania, this workshop explores the science and practice of meaningful correspondence.
Drawing on research into well-being, connection, and gratitude, participants will learn about the benefits of both writing and receiving handwritten notes before being guided through a series of thoughtful prompts to draft and compose their own letters.
Along the way, we will explore the rituals and accoutrements of letter writing, rom paper selection and inks to decorative embellishments and personal touches that elevate the experience. Each participant will receive a carefully curated letter-writing kit featuring two letterpress cards, envelopes, and materials to continue the practice at home.
Perfect as a standalone workshop or paired with The Art of Letterpress Printing for a complete exploration of traditional correspondence.
