Sensory-Friendly Saturday


These events are open to individuals of all ages who would benefit from a low-sensory museum experience. Each edition features several activities for different age and ability levels. Join HNOC on Saturday, January 25 in the new exhibit, A Vanishing Bounty: Louisiana's Coastal Environment and Culture, which focusing on the unique peoples, plants, and animals that inhabit our state. Take part in a gallery scavenger hunt or try your hand at sketching some of Louisiana’s unique wildlife. Guests will also be invited to read from available related books, or request to have a book read to them by an HNOC Education staff member. Is this your first Sensory-Friendly Saturday? HNOC is Sensory Inclusive™️ Certified by KultureCity and offers Sensory Inclusive bags available anytime at the front desk. These bags are filled with items that can help lessen sensory overload, including headphones, fidgets, and visual cue cards. Sensory-Friendly Saturdays are free and open to the public. Registration is recommended.
