The Griswold Inn Hosts New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Marie Bostwick

Join us on Wednesday, June 4th, 11:30 am -1:30 pm for an engaging event that includes an author keynote, followed by a Q&A session and book signing of The Book Club for Troublesome Women. Set in suburban Virginia during the 1960s, the book follows the lives of four housewives living what appears to be the American Dream. However, each of them quietly yearns for something more. When they start a book club—choosing Betty Friedan’s The Feminine Mystique as their first read—they begin to question their roles, examine their dreams, and find the courage to seek change. Bostwick says of her book, "Besides weaving a good yarn, and a page-turning story you can get lost in, I wrote it to supply you with viewpoints to consider and questions to mull over, aspirations to reach for. Mostly, I wrote it in hopes that you would find something of yourself in these pages, and something of your sisters and mine, all the unique, imperfect, troublesome women of this oh-so troublesome and troubling world." “We’re privileged to welcome such a celebrated author whose work resonates with so many,” says Joan Paul, co-owner of The Griswold Inn. “Events like this reflect our ongoing commitment to offering meaningful and memorable experiences to our community.” Tickets are $65 and include lunch, a signed copy of The Book Club for Troublesome Women, and the opportunity to connect with Marie Bostwick. Advance reservations are required, as space is limited. To register, visit The Griswold Inn’s website. or call The Gris Store, Good & Curiosities at 860.767.0210.
