Litchfield Jazz Presents - Albert Rivera Quartet at Palace Theater Poli Club
The Palace Theater Poli Club in Waterbury, CT, will host the renowned Albert Rivera Quartet for two shows on Valentine's Day, at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
Albert Rivera, a Bronx-born saxophonist, is a leading figure in the New York jazz scene, known for his dynamic performances and collaborations with jazz greats like Don Braden, Jimmy Greene, and Junior Mance. Rivera is also the Operations Director for Litchfield Jazz Camp and an adjunct professor at SUNY Purchase College. His accolades include the ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award and a Chamber Music America Residency Grant.
For this special Valentine’s Day concert, Albert Rivera will perform his Beautiful Ballads program, accompanied by Conway Campbell on bass, Richie Barshay on drums, and Zaccai Curtis on piano.
Conway Campbell, a rising star bassist, has performed with jazz luminaries such as Jeremy Pelt and Steve Davis and is a frequent performer at top venues like The Side Door and Newport Jazz Festival.
Richie Barshay, known for his innovative drumming, has a rich history with the Herbie Hancock Quartet and has worked with Chick Corea and Esperanza Spalding.
Zaccai Curtis, a recent GRAMMY nominee for his album CuBop Lives!, is a celebrated pianist and composer who has toured with Eddie Palmieri and Christian Scott.
