Ballet Memphis to host summer program auditions in Nashville
Ballet Memphis School—one of the South’s leading classical ballet training institutions—is bringing its expanded Summer Dance Intensive audition tour to Nashville this February, giving advanced dancers ages 14–22 the opportunity to audition locally for a highly selective, career-focused summer program.
As part of a major program expansion tied to Ballet Memphis’ upcoming 40th anniversary season, the School is evolving its long-running summer intensive into a regional training experience, meeting top students where they are rather than limiting auditions to Memphis.
What makes this program distinct is its structure. Beyond Technique mirrors the daily rhythm of a professional ballet company, offering dancers immersive training with Ballet Memphis School faculty, company dancers, rehearsal directors, and Artistic Director Steven McMahon. Students study both classical and contemporary repertoire and participate in a culminating public performance—preparing them not just as technicians, but as complete artists.
