Running Out: A New Performance by DancEast Company

DancEast Collective, a Nashville-based nonprofit that offers high-quality, accessible dance education for students of all ages and backgrounds, is proud to announce an upcoming performance by DancEast Company. The performance will debut a brand-new piece, “Running Out,” choreographed by DancEast Artist in Residence Becca Hoback. Open to all dance and art enthusiasts in Nashville, the performance will be held on Thursday, March 6 at the Belcourt Theater (2102 Belcourt Avenue). Hoback is a renowned Nashville-based movement artist, performer, collaborator, and choreographer. She is founder of Enactor Productions, and her work has been featured at festivals, showcases and residencies in Nashville and internationally. In 2020, she received a Tennessee Arts Commission Individual Artist Fellowship for her solo work. She consistently receives accolades from the Nashville Scene and the Arts and Business Council of Greater Nashville. Hoback describes the new piece as an exploration of the tension between time, change, and memory. Through movement, the company dancers reflect on life’s impermanence and the imprint of personal histories. “We are honored to host Becca as our first-ever Artist in Residence and commission a new work that features our company dancers,” said Emily Masters, founder of DancEast. “Becca’s pieces honor transformation, which reflects DancEast’s journey from one teacher and eight students to currently more than 250 students and a professional company. We are thrilled to showcase this debut performance and introduce all DancEast has to offer the greater Nashville community.” In addition to “Running Out,” members of the company will also perform Emma Morrison’s compelling duet, “I See You. Do You See Me?”. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. The performance begins at 7:00 p.m. with a run time of approximately 75 minutes. General admission tickets are available for $40, and VIP tickets, which include a pre-performance conversation with choreographer Hoback and preferred seating, are available for $75. To purchase tickets for the performance, please visit https://danceast.org/runningout. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Proceeds from the event will support DancEast Collective and its extensive community programs.
