Did you know Andrew Jackson was only 13 years old when he joined the militia and fought in the American Revolution? Armies used teenaged boys for a lot of functions, including scout, messenger, and soldier. Boys weren’t shielded from much and they faced the same hardships and dangers as the adults with them. Explore the ways in which teenagers served the American Revolution by trying your hand at spy craft, drills and musters, foraging for sustenance, and looking at life in a prison camp.
