TaikoGROOVE!
TaikoArts Midwest produces the first ever taiko dance party concert, TaikoGROOVE! Rhythms drop at 7PM, Saturday June 7, at the Cedar Cultural Center. All Ages.
Surprise Japanese guest artists come all the way from TOKYO to join local troupe Enso Daiko onstage, delivering the debut of a wild, primal groove, plus many audience favorites! Guest DJ ETHYNN gets this party started!
For millenia, people have gathered in the taiko thunderbeat for joyful resilience and restoration. Join us for this epic Twin Cities party event: just what we need in these times.
Executive Director Jennifer Weir says, “People are really struggling now. I want to drum and dance wildly, and to be rooted in community. I need this – the feeling of healing, rhythms, and community connection that happens with taiko drumming.”
TaikoArts Midwest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to producing, promoting, and presenting artistic excellent in taiko arts, using taiko to build and strengthen the community. http://www.taikoartsmidwest.org.
This activity was funded by the Marbrook Foundation, Japan Foundation, and by voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
