Teatro del Pueblo is excited to premier Los Profanadores de la Calle Arenas May 8-17 at Park Square Theater.. Entirely in Spanish, this event immerses guests in the narrative of a family of grave robbers living in a Caribbean cemetery fifty years in the future when the days are hotter, water is scarcer and they are torn between what they desire and what the world wants for them. Experience song, movement, and some participation. This project was created by Lelis Brito, composed by Carlisle Evans Peck and collaboratively directed between Brito and Alondra Alamilla Benitez. The cast includes Nina Aguilera, Mariadela Belle Alvarez, Lelis Brito, Sheila Colmenares, Rebekah Crisanta De Ybarra, Carlisle Evans Peck, Rio Garcia Ramirez, Maliya Gorman-Carter, Alejandra Iannone, Masanari Kawahara, Laddy Noelia, Jarek Pastor, Jeyman Rodriguez, Stephanie Wendler. The artistic and production team features Lelis Brito (Playwright, Lyricist, Director, Choreographer, Costume Designer, Event Designer), Alondra Alamilla (Collaborative Director), Carlisle Evans Peck (Composer, Music Director), Anna Peter (Production Coordinator), Paola Nuñez-Obetz (Stage Manager), Alice Endo (Lighting Designer), Jeyman Rodriguez (Set Co-Designer) Peter Shulze (Set Co-Designer & Fabricator), Tatjana Kusan (Costume & Makeup Assistant), Gloria Collyard (Video & Supertitles Design), Tim Blighton (Film Puppets Illustration & Creation).
