Understanding and Responding to Mass Incarceration
The 2025 Understanding and Responding to Mass Incarceration (URMI) conference theme is WRONGFUL CONVICTION, WRONGFUL INCARCERATION.
Topics will include the causes of wrongful conviction, wrongful incarceration as an abuse of human rights, the lived experience of those wrongfully incarcerated and their loved ones, and much more.
Wrongful conviction and incarceration disproportionately affect communities of color, thus bolstering the system of mass incarceration and disenfranchisement. These realities damage the marginalized and the public good, demanding urgent response.
The annual URMI conference, now in its twelfth year, is free and open to all. Space is limited; registration is required.
