Todd Harper & the Seekers of Beauty
Todd Harper, Ian Rashkin & Eric Coursen have known each other since 1990. Then, Ian moved away. Todd and Eric played in various combos ever since. Now, Ian is in town the second time this year from LA, and we are excited to collaborate again!
Tonight’s show will feature some earlier tunes, but with a focus on fresh iterations of our vast collective musical history. Besides lyrical jazz waltzes, ferocious mambos, and things without a name, expect Todd’s orations, focused on contemporary life, idiosyncratic juxtapositions, observations.
We will also feature music from the local pioneer Carei Thomas.
The ensemble features Todd Harper, (composition, piano, orations, small instruments). Ian Rashkin (bass, compositions). Eric Coursen (drums) Bob Ockenden (guitar), and George Cartwright (alto & tenor saxophone)
