Introducing “Stories the Land Holds” – A Community Invitation to Listen, Reflect, and Connect
We’re excited to share a new initiative that invites our community into a deeper relationship with the land we inhabit and the stories it holds. “Stories the Land Holds” is a multi-session project beginning October 9 at 7 PM. Rooted in the belief that the land beneath us speaks—through its history, its people, and its enduring presence.
Hosted by Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Minneapolis, and supported by a generous foundation grant, this series explores the layered histories of the neighborhood lands between the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers. Through storytelling, reflection, and dialogue, we’ll ask:
• What has the land absorbed?
• Who has lived here, been welcomed, excluded, or expelled?
• How have these histories shaped our present?
• And how can listening to the land guide us away from division and racism and towards justice and harmony?
You will find promotional materials here: Promo Pack — Stories the Land Holds for you to share in your publications and social media. Feel free to circulate to your community (neighborhood, congregation etc.) These events are open to all. We strive to foster a sense of shared stewardship and belonging. We hope to reach a wide audience—anyone curious about the intersection of land, history, and community and how it connects to racism.
Let’s work together to amplify this invitation, spreading the word to as many groups as possible. For more details or to get involved, visit the event website: Stories the Land Holds or contact Linda Shay [email protected] with specific questions.
