Mark your calendar: Everybody’s Irish returns on Saturday, March 14, 2026, for a spirited 5K / 10K run/walk around the beautiful shores of Lake Harriet in Minneapolis. The official start time is 9:00 AM CDT for the 10K, with the 5K following closely at 9:05 AM.
Set against the tranquil — and truthfully, often brisk — backdrop of a Minnesota early spring, Everybody’s Irish is more than just a race. It’s a festive celebration: part fitness event, part community gathering, part early-season party. Whether you’re a competitive runner, a casual jogger, or a walker who just wants to take in the lakeside views and friendly energy, this event welcomes you with open arms (and maybe a pint or two afterward).
What’s Included & What to Expect
• Chip-timed Run / Walk
All participants — regardless of pace — receive chip timing. That means you can measure your performance, track your splits, or simply enjoy the run knowing you’ll get an official time.
You have two course options:
* 5K — one loop around Lake Harriet.
* 10K — two laps around the same scenic route.
Hydration is supported, with water (and presumed basic aid-station services) available at designated points on the course (near the southeast beach, around mile markers ~1.5 and ~4.5).
• Race Swag & Finisher Perks
Every participant gets a souvenir cup — a little keepsake to remember the day.
The first 400 finishers will also receive a commemorative medal, perfect for runners who enjoy a tangible badge of their effort and early-season fitness.
Additional race-day perks include free race photos, included as part of registration.
If you like event merch, there are also sweatshirts (and possibly other gear) available for purchase during early packet pickup.
The Post-Race Celebration: Beer Garden & Community Vibes
One of the most unique and festive aspects of Everybody’s Irish is the post-race beer garden, co-hosted by Minnesota Brewery Run Series (with “Sláinte!” energy).
Here’s what you get if you’re 21 or older:
A 12 oz SiliPint tasting glass — yours to keep.
Samples from participating local breweries — an opportunity to enjoy fresh Minnesota craft beers while you celebrate crossing the finish line.
For those under 21, or if you prefer not to drink alcohol — non-alcoholic options are offered.
The beer garden runs from 9:15 AM to 12:00 PM on race day.
To make sure everyone stays comfortable, especially given Minnesota’s unpredictable March weather, the organizers will set up fire pits and propane heaters. Attendees are strongly encouraged to dress in layers — jackets, hats, gloves, and warm underlayers can make all the difference between “too cold” and “festively chilly.”
Logistics: Location, Registration, Parking & Packet Pickup
Venue / Start & Finish: The race begins and ends near the Lake Harriet Bandshell — address: 4135 W Lake Harriet Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55409.
Packet Pickup: Begins at 7:30 AM on race day. Bib pickup hours for early packet pickup (the week before) will be announced closer to the event. The early pickup is at Fleet Feet Marathon Sports, 2312 W 50th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55410.
Parking & Traffic: Parking around the Bandshell is limited. The Parkway will be closed to vehicle traffic after 8:00 AM, so the organizers encourage participants to park in nearby neighborhoods (Lake Harriet & Linden Hills) and walk or bike in if possible.
Refund Policy: Entry fees are non-refundable, under any circumstance. By registering, participants acknowledge that fees are used for race organization, permits, insurance, and other logistical needs.
Organizer / Host: The race is run by Run Minnesota — a local nonprofit dedicated to promoting running across the state.
Why Everybody’s Irish Is More Than Just a Run
• Inclusive for All Fitness Levels
Whether you’re a hardcore runner aiming for PRs, a casual jogger, or someone who’d rather power-walk while enjoying the lakeside views — Everybody’s Irish welcomes you. The flexible “run / jog / walk” model and the option to skip the race entirely and just enjoy the beer garden make it a truly inclusive event.
• Community + Festive Spirit
The race is as much a celebration as a competition. With its March timing (close to St. Patrick’s Day), the beer garden vibe, and the laid-back atmosphere around Lake Harriet — it’s ideal for friends who want to run together, families, or groups looking for a fun winter-to-spring outing.
• A Fun Way to Shake Off Winter
Minnesota winters can be long, dark, and chilly. This event offers the perfect excuse to get outside, move your body, and soak up some frozen-lakeside scenery — with the reward of a race medal (if you’re quick), a souvenir cup, and, for many, a warm pint in hand.
