The Forest Lake Ice Fishing Classic returns Saturday, February 7, from noon to 3 p.m. on Forest Lake (Lake #1), bringing together anglers, families, and community members for an afternoon of winter fun in support of local organizations, including Invisible Wounds Project. Whether you’re competing for the biggest catch or simply enjoying the lively atmosphere, the event offers something for everyone in a safe, family-friendly, alcohol-free environment.
Participants can take part in the popular bucket-style ice fishing contest, with hundreds of holes pre-drilled on the ice. Anglers bring their own gear and bucket, with no electronics or fish houses allowed. First prize is $1,000. Attendees can also enjoy food trucks, music, on-ice games, and a large raffle featuring prizes such as an Ice Castle Fish House, an Aluma-Light Skid House, a four-person bird hunt, and more.
Proceeds from the Forest Lake Ice Fishing Classic benefit Invisible Wounds Project and other community organizations that support veterans, first responders, youth fishing teams, and their families. Invisible Wounds Project will be on the ice during the event to share information about its services, ways to get involved, and host interactive games for guests. Due to limited parking near the contest grounds, free shuttle service will be provided from Running Aces Casino, Hotel & Racetrack. No parking is allowed on the lake.
