Record Store Day at Electric Fetus
The legendary Minneapolis record store Electric Fetus will celebrate Record Store Day (RSD), Saturday, April 12, with a full-day lineup of activity including exclusive releases, live DJ performances, complimentary food and beverage and more.
Record Store Day is a tradition that began in 2008 to celebrate nearly 1,400 independently owned record stores in the US. Notable exclusive releases for the event will include music from artists like Taylor Swift, Charli xcx and the famous Fetus fan: Prince — and many more.
Along with the exclusive vinyl, the Fetus will feature an exclusive in-store signing opportunity with the Linda Lindas — the LA-based band is performing a sold-out First Avenue show later that night. The performing guest DJs include: DJ Jake Rudh, DJ Cherry Cherry Boom Boom, DJ A.J. Hilton and DJ Andrea Swensson.
And, in addition to the main retail space, the Electric Fetus will open its on-site garage for guests to shop all RSD exclusives. For vinyl fans waiting in line before the Fetus opens at 9 a.m., the independent retailer will offer complimentary breakfast pastries and coffee from Hell’s Kitchen, cookies from local nonprofit Cookie Cart (until supplies last) and food for purchase from El Burrito Mercado’s food truck.
