International Plastic Pellet Hunt with Environment Minnesota

Volunteers will comb the beach at Crosby Farm Regional Park in St. Paul, Minn., searching for plastic, and collecting plastic pellets (sometimes called “nurdles”). Their findings will be documented in a global database as part of the International Plastic Pellet Count, happening in nearly every other state as well as in more than two dozen countries across six continents. The plastic pellets and other microplastics that pollute our oceans, lakes and rivers, pose environmental and potential public health threats. Attendees will witness firsthand the life cycle of plastic, which begins in the form of a pellet, and can end floating down our most beloved river. WHERE: Park at the South Parking Lot of Crosby Farm Regional Park, St. Paul, Minnesota. The beach can be accessed by the footpath. WHEN: Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. CT
