Wambli Soars!
St. Luke Presbyterian Church of Minnetonka invites you to an evening of culture, community, and celebration at the Wambli Soars! Event in support of the Division of Indian Work (DIW). This extraordinary event will take place on Saturday, April 26, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Allina Health MacMillan Center (2925 Elliot Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN). Attendees will enjoy free validated parking in the Purple Ramp at 2837 Chicago Avenue South, with entrance to the MacMillan Center on the third floor.
As one of the event's proud sponsors, St. Luke Presbyterian Church is delighted to support DIW’s vital programs while bringing the community together for an unforgettable experience. The evening will feature a Native feast and zero-proof beverages, catered by Native Harvest, along with an array of exciting activities and performances.
Event Highlights Include:
• Hosts: WCCO-TV reporter Reg Chapman and Odia Wood-Krueger.
• Dance Demonstrations: Enjoy Fancy Shawl, Men's Traditional, and Jingle Dress dances.
• Remarks by DIW Executive Director Louise Matson: Gain insight into DIW's impactful work.
• Interactive Group Round Dance: A chance for all attendees to connect through this joyful tradition.
• Live Auction & Fund A Need: Led by Fladeboe Auctions, with exclusive items, such as:
1. One dozen of George Soule's world-famous chocolate chip cookies.
2. A 4-course meal for six at Holman’s Table in St. Paul with drink pairings.
3. A luxurious overnight stay at Nicollet Island Inn, a $300 Murray’s Steakhouse gift card, and two tickets to the Guthrie Theater.
Event Schedule:
• 4:00 PM: Doors Open – Check-in, registration, program tables, games, and appetizers.
• 5:00 PM: Welcome messages and buffet opens, featuring Big Drum and Hand Drum singing.
• 6:00 PM: Program begins – Presentations, dance demonstrations, live auction, and Fund A Need.
• 6:30 PM: Group Round Dance to conclude the evening.
