Chant Claire: The Peaceable Kingdom
On May 16th, we gather around a vision of a world where every voice, every creature, every force finds its place in harmony. At its center stands Randall Thompson’s The Peaceable Kingdom, a riveting a cappella work sparked by Edward Hicks’s iconic paintings — a work that doesn’t shy away from turmoil, but charges straight through it. The music wrestles with warning and upheaval before opening into a startling image of coexistence, a glimpse of what it might mean for all creation to stand together without fear.
