Spirit of Racine Music Makers will perform a variety of inspiring music to lift your spirit with songs about courage, passion, dreams and peace. The community musical group is comprised of about 50 vocalists, hand bell ringers and instrumentalists whose mission is to bring love, peace and social justice to the world through the beauty and power of music. Artistic Director Margaret Stetka Girdzius will lead the group. Pianist Marilyn Justus will be the Accompanist.
This benefit concert is free and open to the public. But it does have a purpose. Aside from sharing inspiring secular and religious music, this concert is dedicated to Spirit of Racine Music Maker’s first Artistic Director and Co-founder, George F. Baumgardt, who passed away in 2024. Spirit created an endowed music scholarship in his memory at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, his alma mater. A free-will offering will be collected during the concert and 100% of proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund.
A benevolent donor has made a matching gift to the George F. Baumgardt Memorial Music Scholarship. For every dollar donated to the fund between now and July 1, 2025, the donor will match up to $2,500. Contributions can also be made directly to the fund by specifying your gift to the George F. Baumgardt Memorial Music Scholarship and making the contribution online at the link below or mailing a check with a note in the memo to UW-Parkside Foundation, 900 Wood Rd., PO Box 2000, Kenosha WI 53141.
