Benefit Art Sale at the Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts

An ambitious effort to new bring new light to Center Street will be aided by a benefit art sale at Milwaukee’s Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts (JGCA). The JGCA, at 920 E. Center Street, is a longtime and vibrant part of the Riverwest neighborhood, but recent events in the surrounding community have included anchor businesses closing, catastrophic house fires and other setbacks. The Jazz Gallery Board concluded that the time is right to bring new light and life to Center Street by raising funds for street level lighting and a colorful, illuminated sign for its building. As a non-profit organization dedicated to the visual and performing arts, generating the needed funds through a benefit art sale is in keeping with the JGCA’s mission The Jazz Gallery’s art sale includes items donated by many highly talented Milwaukee-area artists (donations are still being accepted; please contact the JGCA for more information). The art sale opens on Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1 from 12 until 5 pm each day. After that, the sale will be open every Thursday through Sunday from noon until 5 pm through December 14. The Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts builds community and provides opportunities to create, present, and experience the visual and performing arts. It is a 501 ( c ) nonprofit organization, so donations are tax deductible. The JGCA serves the Riverwest neighborhood as well as the broader Milwaukee metropolitan region and supports both emerging and established artists.
