This month we'll be discussing The Dutch House by Ann Pratchett in our programming room. Choose your time: we have discussions at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Light refreshments will be provided.
The Dutch House is a historical fiction novel set at the end of the second World War. This family saga follows Danny and his older sister, Maeve, as they are exiled from the house they grew up in–a lavish Philadelphia estate–and left penniless by their stepmother. After being banished from the Dutch House, Maeve doubles down on protecting and raising Danny as best she can. Spanning the course of five decades, this sweeping tale of sibling love is at once a dark modern fairytale and a moving story about heredity, home, altruism, and forgiveness.
Copies of the novel are currently available for checkout on a first-come, first-served basis at the library while supplies last. New attendees are welcome! Registration is required. To register, please call the library at (262) 878-2910, or click "MORE DETAILS" to register online.
