Lessons and Carols - Good Tidings of Great Joy

Come and hear the good news of the Christmas story, told through timeless readings and beloved carols. We feature harpist Rebecca Royce and oboist Emily Knaapen in a potpourri of heavenly sounds. A festival of lessons and carols is a special CAS tradition. Enjoy a break from the holiday bustle and experience the true meaning of Christmas, featuring the music of American composers Jackson Berkey and Stephen Paulus. You’re warmly invited to listen and sing along.  “Advent and Christmas are blessed with an abundance of outstanding music, both familiar and remarkable. Each year CAS brings new dimensions to the long-running tradition of Lessons and Carols by blending beautiful and moving music to the retelling of the Christmas story,” said CAS Maestro James Schatzman. “Adding a harp to this stunning program will bring a unique beauty to this treasured holiday tradition.” The Choral Arts Society is in its 38th season of presenting live choral music programs. Experiencing live music ignites a joy and sense of community that nurtures and heals. Join with the members of the CAS to share in this joy-filled, moving experience!   Included with admission is a pre-concert event from 5:45-6:30PM "Speaking of Faith” with Lessons and Carols – Good Tidings of Great Joy Readers.
