RUGN "Clean & Green" Organic Gardening Workshop


The Racine Urban Garden Network (RUGN) will host a free public workshop on the subject of Organic (chemical free) Gardening on Saturday, May 3 from 3 to 4 pm at the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) Museum at 3333 North Green Bay Road. Led by Master Gardener and RUGN President Donna Delmar, the workshop will focus on Clean and Green” solutions for soil fertilization, encompassing use of organic fertilizers, like blood and bone meal, manures, compost and lawn clippings, and pest management, including environmentally friendly ways to manage insects, rabbits, and deer. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions after the presentation. Community Garden Plots Still Available Plots are still available at all nine gardens of the Racine Urban Garden Network. The suggested donation of $30, which includes the use of a 10 x 10 foot plot, access to water and tools. Sponsorships of plots is available for low income families and community organizations.
