Chosen Inc. of Wisconsin (“Chosen”), a non-profit ministry dedicated to supporting and celebrating foster and adoptive families, will celebrate 10 years of impact April 5 at its Open Hearts, Open Homes Gala.
Guests attending the festivities at Davians, N56-W16300 Silver Spring Drive, Menomonee Falls, are encouraged to lasso their creative spirit and wear western attire, as part of the event’s “Wild West” theme. Live western music, cornhole games and other western-inspired activities will round out the rodeo.
Tickets are available through March 15, and include dinner and entertainment. Attendees can participate in silent and live auctions, a 50/50 raffle, and photo ops for lasting memories. Tickets can be purchased here: bit.ly/4e2TvX2.
Event sponsorships, which include event tickets and ongoing advertising through multiple channels, start at $740. Table sponsorships are also available, including a “Friends Night Out Reserved Table” for eight at $640.
Open Hearts, Open Homes starts the official countdown for the launch of Chosen’s new Mobile Family Closet, set to hit the streets in late 2025. This innovative, mobile resource will bring clothing and essential supplies directly to underserved communities, and to foster and adoptive families who might face challenges with transportation or child care.
Since 2017, The Family Closet has provided essential resources to foster and adoptive families, operating entirely through donations. Its flagship location in Waukesha has distributed more than 70,000 items to 700 families with 1,700 children in care, across 13 southeastern Wisconsin counties. The new Mobile Family Closet will strengthen community partnerships and bring support closer to families in need.
The Open Hearts, Open Homes Gala is Chosen’s largest fund-raiser, directly supporting hands-on programs, outreach and educational initiatives for foster and adoptive families. The evening promises to once again be filled with warmth, encouragement and a shared commitment to “Fostering Forever Families.”
“We are thrilled to gather again with our supporters, and celebrate this milestone,” said Karen Schlindwein, Board President of Chosen. “Their generosity makes our work possible, and the Mobile Family Closet is a significant step toward serving families where they are.”
A multitude of generous sponsors make the gala possible: CT Access, Flowers by Cammy, Grady, Hayes & Neary LLC, Meijer – Waukesha, Norris: Beyond Fostering, Once Upon a Child – Brookfield, Waukesha County Foster Care, Wellpoint Care Network and Woodman’s.
Chosen is dedicated to educating the public about the impact of adoption and fostering, while providing spiritual, material, and emotional support to families navigating these often-misunderstood journeys. Chosen also connects families with resource referrals to organizations and professionals that help meet their unique needs.
Supporters of Chosen are encouraged to watch for updates about its newest event: the 1st Annual Tee Up for Chosen Golf Outing is set for Sept. 24 at Western Lakes Golf Club.
