About the Fair:
Now in its 11th year, AfriKin Art Fair with the guiding theme Through Creation, We Find Meaning: Scenes From Home curated by Dr. Joseph L. Underwood, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Art History at Kent State University, has established itself as the premier showcase of African contemporary art during Miami Art Week. Recognized by the New York Times, NBC, ABC, and Deco Drive, AfriKin has become a cultural landmark and is officially sanctioned by the City of North Miami and the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau as the kick-off event of Miami Art Week and Art Basel Miami Beach.
With a curatorial framework grounded in intellectual rigor and cultural dialogue, AfriKin presents artists from more than 30 countries, offering a panoramic view of African and diasporic creativity. Each edition delivers a sophisticated convergence of art, culture, and innovation—bridging heritage and modernity while sparking transformative conversations.
For collectors, cultural leaders, and tastemakers, AfriKin is not simply another fair—it is the must-see event that sets the tone for the week ahead.
