Urban Bush Women
For more than 40 years, Urban Bush Women has challenged audiences and expanded the boundaries of contemporary dance through powerful storytelling rooted in the experiences of Black women and the African diaspora. Founded in 1984 by visionary choreographer Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, the internationally acclaimed Brooklyn-based company combines bold artistic expression, community engagement, and cultural heritage into performances that are both deeply moving and socially relevant.
