Ladies in Waiting: The Judgement of Henry VIII

Magnolia Productions is proud to present the Northeast US premiere of James Cougar Canfield's "Ladies in Waiting: The Judgement of Henry VIII". This marks the fourth and final production of the groups inaugural season. They were nominated for three NJ Association of Community Theater awards (best actress, best featured actress and best director) for their first production, Proof. The group is a new all-female run theater company, with the goal of presenting works for, by and about strong women.

"Ladies in Waiting: The Judgement of Henry VIII" finds the infamous king in a strange afterlife where he is confronted by the six women he married. Truths are revealed, scores are settled, and legacies are challenged. The play depicts violence, sexual situations and graphic language. It is intended for mature audiences. This is the first time this play is being produced in the area. It has previously appeared in The Capital Fringe Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and the Hollywood Fringe in Los Angeles, where it received awards for Best Ensemble, the International Award, and Combined Artform's Pick of Fringe.

Performances are May 30, 31, June 6 & 7 at 7:30 pm
