33rd African Diaspora International Film Festival

The 33rd Annual African Diaspora International Film Festival (ADIFF NYC 2025) returns to New York City from November 28 to December 14, 2025, celebrating 33 years of showcasing stories from Africa, the African Diaspora and beyond. The festival kicks off with its Mini Virtual Festival on November 28, streaming a curated selection of 20 international titles online, before moving into in-person screenings across Manhattan venues including Teachers College, Columbia University and Cinema Village. This year’s dynamic lineup spans Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, North America, Europe, Australasia and India, presenting premieres, classics, and censored works that explore resilience, identity, and the ongoing fight for artistic and political freedom. . Experience more than 65 films from over 30 countries, including powerful narratives, thought-provoking documentaries, and conversations with filmmakers. This year’s festival features an exciting Opening Night screening of The Dutchman, a bold new adaptation of Amiri Baraka’s classic play, and a powerful Closing Night presentation of Fanon, exploring the life and legacy of revolutionary thinker Frantz Fanon.
