The Brick Church Book Club and History & Archives Committee invite you to welcome Dr. Kenneth T. Jackson, Jacques Barzun Professor Emeritus of History at Columbia University, our guest speaker for Brick Church in the American Revolution: Kindred Minds. Panel discussants include Senior Minister Rev. Thomas Evans; author and United States historian Dr. Amanda Bellows; Theologian in Residence Dr. Charles Guth; Chair of the History & Archives Committee Margaret Stocker; and Chair of the Brick Church Book Club Gracey Stoddard.
Come to rediscover the lives of the “Kindred Minds” who weathered the divisiveness of the American Revolution 250 years ago. February 4 will premier the digital version of E. Deane Turner’s A History of the Brick Presbyterian Church in the City of New York: A Fellowship of Kindred Minds.
Watson Hall will be transformed into a dynamic space - part lecture hall, part historical exhibition and part digital slideshow, featuring George Washington’s thank you letter to Rev. John Rodgers and cameos of “Kindred Minds.” Join our neighborhood community, longtime members, and those new to our congregation. The Patriots and Loyalists of 1776 show how our legacy shapes the present and our hopes for the future together.
