Join us for an extraordinary evening celebrating the timeless wines of Vietti, true Piedmont royalty. This esteemed winery holds a pivotal place in Italian viticulture, not only for its pioneering single-vineyard Barolos that redefined the region, but also for Alfredo Currado's visionary efforts in rescuing the native Arneis grape from the brink of extinction.
We will be joined by Urs Vetter, Vietti's Global Sales Diredctor, as we delve into a collection that showcases Vietti's rich heritage and unwavering commitment to crafting expressions of unparalleled quality and profound regional character.
Urs Vetter has become one of the most visible faces of Vietti around the world. Born in Bern, Switzerland, his career includes a position as Wine Buyer and Commercial Director of one of the Netherland’s leading fine wine importing and wholesaling companies (Residence Wijnen). This is, back in 1989, when he first met with the Currado–Vietti family at the their winery: the beginning of a profound long-term friendship.
For 25 years, before joining Vietti, Urs was the Commercial Director of the Alois Lageder winery in Alto Adige, building global distribution and establishing its position as one of Italy’s most successful fine wine brands. He has also had extensive experience as a sommelier in several of the top Michelin star restaurants in Switzerland, France and Belgium. During the 1987 vintage he was also an apprentice winemaker at the Thienpont family wineries in Margaux and Pomerol, Bordeaux.
