Kent Parks is featured in a solo exhibition in the Steinhauer trust Gallery at the University of Wisconsin Arboretum visitor Center. The exhibit, Greetings From The Landscape Of Wisconsin, will run for two months starting March 4, 2025 through the end of April. Parks' work celebrates the diversity of Wisconsin landscapes. Among his 40 paintings one will find a wide range of subject matter from trees and flowers to beautiful pastoral prairie landscapes.
The University of Wisconsin Arboretum Visitor Center and Steinhauer Trust Gallery hours are
9:30 AM to 4 PM weekdays and 12:30 PM to 4 PM on weekends.
Previous exhibitions of Parks's work include numerous awards over the last 45 years at the Annual Hoard Art Show in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. In the 1970s and 80s he won a number of awards from Wisconsin PBS Telebib Fundraisers. In 2018 he was accepted into the 56th Annual Hardy Gallery exhibit in Door County. In 2024, at the request of a Jefferson County supervisor, the painting Golden Autumn, was on loan for one year and was on display in the County Board Room at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
Parks studied painting and design at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graphic design at Madison College. He then started a career in graphic design spending over 41 years in the field as an Art Director at Nasco in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. After his retirement he has been able to focus more time on watercolor painting. He works out of his rural Dane County studio.
