William “Sonny” Simon VFW Post 8216 continues mission at its annual Sonny Simon Golf Outing 2025. Golf player registration and sponsorship packages are now available at www.sonnysimongolf.com.
You can expect the usual camaraderie, a fun day of golf, and a quick pace-of-play.
The Sonny Simon VFW Golf Outing 2025 is scheduled for Friday, 11 July, at Pleasant View Golf Club in Middleton. 18 holes. Four-person scramble. Inprocessing opens at 1030 HRS. We honor Sonny's sacrifice, and the sacrifice of his family, by keeping his story alive. Sonny Simon was a Middleton Son, who enlisted at 19 years old and was sent to battle in Europe's fiercest fighting. He was lost at the age of 20, first declared MIA, then presumed KIA. His family was thrust into a state of limbo that lasted 80 years. In 2022, new technology enabled his identification, and Sonny was returned home for a Soldier's final farewell.
Middleton's William "Sonny" Simon VFW Post 8216 continues to raise funds in his name. Sonny was a Middleton High School Letterman and played four sports–a local athlete of some renown. We like to think he would enjoy having a day set aside to hang out with friends and family playing golf.
