Melanin Pride Weekend is a three-day celebration of Black LGBTQ+ pride, culture, community, love, freedom, and self-expression. Created by Pride Games Events, the weekend brings people together in Louisville, Kentucky, for an unforgettable experience where everyone can feel seen, celebrated, welcomed, and free to be exactly who they are. Celebrating its 10-year anniversary in 2026, Melanin Pride Weekend represents a decade of creating spaces specifically designed to uplift and celebrate the Black LGBTQ+ community and its allies. What started as a vision to bring the community together has grown into a full weekend filled with entertainment, connection, creativity, and celebration. The weekend takes place September 18–20, 2026, and features a variety of events, each offering its own experience. Guests can enjoy an Open Mic Night showcasing talented artists and performers, the All Shades of Melanin Day Party celebrating the beauty of every shade of brown, the high-energy Let It Melt After Party, an exciting Drag Brunch featuring amazing entertainers, and the We Outside: Melanin Edition community park event. Melanin Pride Weekend is about much more than partying. It is about creating safe and welcoming spaces where Black LGBTQ+ people can show up authentically without feeling like they have to change who they are to belong. It is a weekend where individuality is encouraged, talent is showcased, friendships are formed, businesses are supported, and the community can simply enjoy being together. Throughout the weekend, attendees can experience live performances, DJs, hosts, drag entertainment, local vendors, food, games, community resources, and opportunities to support LGBTQ+ artists, entertainers, entrepreneurs, and organizations. From nightlife to daytime activities, Melanin Pride Weekend offers something for different personalities and age groups. The We Outside event brings an especially strong community-focused element to the weekend. It provides an outdoor environment featuring performances, vendors, food, activities, games, resources, and family-friendly entertainment. It gives the community an opportunity to gather outside of traditional nightlife while still experiencing the energy and spirit of Melanin Pride. At its heart, Melanin Pride Weekend is about representation. Black LGBTQ+ people deserve spaces where their culture, identities, creativity, relationships, talents, businesses, and stories are centered and celebrated. The weekend was created to provide exactly that—a place where people can walk in and know that the space was intentionally created with them in mind. For ten years, Pride Games Events has worked to build experiences rooted in community, visibility, inclusion, and celebration. The 10-year anniversary is not only a milestone; it is a celebration of every person who has attended, performed, volunteered, hosted, DJed, sponsored, partnered, promoted, supported, or simply believed in the vision along the way.
