On December 23rd, from noon to 3 p.m., The Shops at Montebello, a modern super-regional enclosed shopping center in Montebello, California (www.shopsatmontebello.com), invites the community to gather around the center’s 30-foot Christmas tree in Center Court for the center’s annual tree lighting ceremony. Before the tree lighting takes place, the crowd will be entertained by traditional holiday carolers; following the carolers’ performance, members of the Montebello City Council will light the tree. During the event, attendees will enjoy complimentary holiday cookies, candy canes and jingle bell scarves as well as taking part in a holiday-themed craft event (while supplies last). Following the tree lighting, guests are invited to visit Santa to share their wish lists and take professional photos they can treasure for a lifetime. The Tree Lighting event is free and open to the public; no pre-registration is required. Professional Santa photo packages start at $39.99. While a photo reservation is not required and walk-up visits will be accommodated on a space-available basis, to reduce wait times, pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
