Benita Bike’s DanceArt presents a unique program of dance at the beautiful La Crescenta Library on Saturday, May 24, 2:00pm. The La Crescenta Library is located at 2809 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta. This is a FREE performance, and reservations are not required. This performance is supported in part by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Department of Arts and Culture and the Friends of the La Crescenta Library. Benita Bike’s DanceArt is well known for engaging dance programs in the community that are entertaining and educational. The Company will present a number of beautifully performed dances along with inviting the audience to ask questions and make comments about the dances presented . You’ll learn how dances are made and how ideas develop into movement that expresses striking moods, images, and stories.
Featured on this program are the following dances:
▪ Griot Songs – 3 stages of womanhood: child into woman, young womanhood, and maturity
▪ Duets from Dance “Aspects of Me” – “Me and Myself” and “Me and Her”
▪ From Where I Sit – Different characters share their states of mind in vignettes titled “Ascending,” “Tired of it All,” “Corruptor,” “Solace,” & “On Edge.”
