National Guard Birthday Gala and Awards Ceremony

The Arkansas National Guard Foundation is proud to announce that Congressman Stephen A. “Steve” Womack, retired Colonel of the Arkansas Army National Guard, will receive the Major General Harold L. Gwatney Award for Military Service at the third annual National Guard Birthday Gala on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Robinson Center’s Still Ballroom in Little Rock. The Gala celebrates 389 years of National Guard heritage while raising critical funds for Guard families through scholarships, youth programs, survivor care, emergency assistance, and military heritage preservation. Since its founding in 1967, the Foundation has invested more than $1.8 million directly into programs that strengthen Arkansas’s Citizen-Soldiers, Airmen, and their families. Congressman Womack retired from the Guard in 2009 after more than 30 years of service, including command of the first National Guard unit to perform the Multinational Force and Observers mission in Sinai, Egypt. His military career earned him the Legion of Merit, the Arkansas Distinguished Service Medal, and the Harry S. Truman Award, the National Guard Bureau’s highest honor. In Congress, he continues to champion the Guard, ensuring its readiness and supporting military families. 🎟️ Sponsorships, tables, and individual tickets for military and retired military are available now. 👉 https://www.angf.us/events/birthday-gala/
