Celebrate summer with us by making a faux flower crown with Laman's magical friend, Lavender the Herbal Fairy! Join Lavender the Herbal Fairy and NLR Laman Library for a whimsical, hands-on adventure in flower crown making. Across cultures and generations, flower crowns have symbolized joy, love, and celebration—adorning heads during rituals, festivals, and cultural gatherings. In this guided workshop, all tools, materials, and instructions are provided as you create your own unique crown to celebrate summer. Whether you lean into something soft and ethereal or bold and expressive, your crown will reflect your personal magic. After crafting, step into our custom photo booth to capture your radiant creation. This program is for all ages--guardians are invited to participate with their little ones. No registration is required. Contact Susannah at [email protected] with any questions. We can’t wait to create with you! About Lavender the Herbal Fairy: Lavender the Herbal Fairy is an interdisciplinary artist platform creating nourishing and imaginative learning environments that support urban communities in restoring reciprocal relationships with the natural world. Rooted in ecology, ancestral wisdom, and kinship, her practice blends painting, mixed media, short stories, immersive event curation, and garden design informed by therapeutic horticulture. As a certified nature educator, Lavender the Herbal Fairy is both character and nature guide--she centers environmental education and creative expression for underestimated communities, misfits, and sensitive souls. Through this work, she expands access to nature-based experiences for those historically underrepresented in outdoor spaces, reclaiming the outdoors as a place of safety, healing, and abundance. Integrating ethnobotanical knowledge, storytelling, and participatory art-making, Lavender invites participants to engage with the land through curiosity, play, and care while fostering space for reflection, restoration, ecological stewardship, and lasting relationships with the natural world.
