Share a coffee and a story at this special Saturday morning story circle!
Join us for this very special One Community, One Book event celebrating the power of storytelling and community with Adena White of Blackbelt Media. During this guided, reflective experience, participants will be invited to share a story or reflection based on a brief prompt. Whether you have a story to share (no pressure to tell a perfect one!) or would prefer to simply listen, this interactive story circle will help us connect with each other and recognize the everyday histories in our own lives.
Margot Lee Shetterly was inspired to write Hidden Figures after hearing stories about Black female computers from her father, and her research into these incredible women led her to discover their stories in living rooms, family meals, and long-forgotten newspaper clippings. So, come to the library, grab a coffee, and start your Saturday with a story.
Refreshments available while supplies last; registration is encouraged so we can buy enough snacks!
This event is part of One Community, One Book, a celebration of the book Hidden Figures. Join us from February 17th to March 21st for events exploring math, science, Black and women's history, and the Space Race.
