Take your woodturning skills to the next level in Part Two of our immersive woodshop series! If you've mastered the basics of spindle turning, it's time to expand your techniques and work with larger wood blocks to create beautifully turned bowls.
Guided by expert instructors from the Diamond State Woodturners Group, you’ll refine your ability to shape both concave and convex forms while learning the precise pressure, distance, and movement needed to sculpt your final pieces. Each student will have their own lathe and dedicated instructor, ensuring hands-on, personalized guidance throughout the class.
In this hands-on class, you’ll learn:
Advanced lathe techniques for working with larger wood blocks.
How to shape concave and convex forms to craft elegant bowls.
The step-by-step process of transforming raw wood into stunning turned pieces.
Bring your lunch and wear closed-toe shoes—we'll provide everything else! Whether you're continuing your journey from Part One or diving in with some prior lathe experience, this class will help you refine your craft and walk away with a beautifully turned wooden bowl.
