Gallery Opening with Steven Douglas Shelton
Steven's always felt a passion for art, but creating his own is a fairly new endeavor. On a whim in 2021, he and his husband, Rex, took up painting for a new, fun project. That moment led Steven to break free from his previous conceptions of art, and his true love of abstract painting was born.
Steven's creative process is anything but boring. The stunning splatters, the imaginative drips and pours work to create pieces of beauty and ardor. He employs a variety of tools and techniques to orchestrate his creations. In Steven's words, "A painting is finished when it is finished. It is not up to me. I have to feel and sense that magical moment that a painting is finally ready to be seen."
