Pellissippi's 11th Annual Young Creative Writer's Workshop

We offer exciting workshops in all genres, including traditional poetry, songwriting/spoken-word poetry, fiction, publication, memoir/poetry, and specialty generative workshops. This year's keynote/featured workshop leader is award-winning author Robert Gipe. Other workshop leaders include "Black Atticus," Knoxville's previous Poet Laureate; novelist Julia Watts; poets Anna Childs and Drema Bowers; publisher Terry Shaw; and artist Herb Rieth. Pastries, juice and coffee are served in the morning and lunch is provided--all for free. Musical entertainment and door prizes are featured during lunch with exciting activities happening afterward. Be part of our "Create Your Own Zine" and "Putting Words to Appalachia" Stations where you may create small books to take home. Learn to quilt a "story square" in our popular "Quilting Bee" Station. Interact with all our workshop leaders and professional writers/publishers in our "Writer's Room," and read your writing for our You Tube videos. Attendees may also share their original work live at the "Showcase," which happens at the end of the day. Parents and teachers are also invited to attend, but we do ask that everyone register so that we may include you in our lunch count. Register at https://www.pstcc.edu/events/ycww
