JEFFERSON CITY, MO, APRIL 17, 2025 – Wings Over Weston is a celebration of bird migration and the arrival of spring. Join the park team to celebrate this annual event Saturday, May 3. This is a great way to learn all about birds and other spring phenomena. Activities planned for the day include hands-on arts and crafts (including opportunities to build a birdhouse or a pinecone feeder), games with prizes, live bird exhibits, a monarch butterfly program, native plant sales and guided bird walks.
Most activities will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. However, the bird walks will start as early as 6:30 a.m. and will end by 10 a.m. Some of the bird walks require advance registration. All activities are free and open to the public.
Event schedule:
6:30-8:30 a.m.: Guided bird walk at various locations within Weston Bend State Park; registration required. Call 816-640-5443 to register.
6:30-8:30 a.m.: Guided bird walk at Lewis and Clark State Park and Little Bean Marsh Conservation Area; registration required. Call 816-640-5443 to register.
9:15-10 a.m.: Guided bird walk at Weston Bend State Park’s Bee Creek Shelter; no registration required.
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Arts, crafts, games, live bird exhibits, monarch program, native plant sales and other activities at Weston Bend State Park; no registration required.
Weston Bend State Park is located at 16600 Highway 45 North near Weston.
