One of the fun aspects of brewing, home brewing particularly, is it's incredibly open ended as far as what direction you take your brewing. Some brewers set out to invent a unique beer with their imagination in the driver's seat.
Others may focus on replicating or "cloning" an existing beer to try to create an exact match. Maybe it's a beer that is part of a special memory for that person. Maybe it's a beer that isn't brewed anymore or is hard to find.
For both of these routes, a well-planned, carefully executed brew can result in a great beer that is worth celebrating... with a beer!
When Mitch came and said he wanted to brew a clone recipe for his West Coast Wednesday brew we had a pretty good guess that he was going to pick one of the most commonly requested clone recipes. We were excited to get to work!
Our end result was a beautiful West Coast IPA that shines with notes of citrus and pine that is a nod to both a legend and the spirit of home brewing with of course, our own twist! Mitch the Elder will be on tap Wednesday, May 27 at 3pm when we open.
Small batch. Draft only.
