2026 Challenge 22 Walk for Veteran Suicide Prevention


The sixth-annual Challenge 22 Walk will start at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 21 at the Jacksonville Beach Seawalk Pavilion – with event net proceeds funding veteran suicide prevention programs and services in the beaches communities. Walkers can pre-register now at https://give.floridalegion.org/ch22jax. The cost is $22 per walker or $35 for registration and an event t-shirt or tank top. Businesses that would like to take part as event sponsors or booth exhibitors at the event can download sponsorship information at https://give.floridalegion.org/ch22jax. The 2.2 mile walk begins at 8 a.m. at the pavilion, located at 75 First St. North, with a beach walk to Oceanfront Park and back – with a program and live music from Broke ‘Til Friday from the pavilion stage until noon. Vendors and organizations will be on hand, along with food trucks, with silent auction raffle items available for purchase. More activities, including the announcement of raffle winners, will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. at Legion Post 129 at 1151 S. 4th St. in Jacksonville Beach – with live music from The Matt Altman Band. Presented by the American Legion 5th District Riders and Beaches Ocean Post 129, Challenge 22 raises funds and also aims to raise awareness about veteran suicide in the beaches communities. Post 129 has 30 coalition partners and 13 strategic partners that receive funds to provide veteran prevention services in Northeast Florida.
