The Nutcracker - presented by Metropolitan Youth Ballet of Indiana
Join Clara and her Nutcracker Prince on an enchanted Christmas Eve journey - from a joyous holiday party at The Stahlbaum’s, into an epic midnight battle between mice and toy soldiers, through the dazzling Kingdom of Snow, and into the delightful Land of Sweets. Along the way you’ll meet all of the ballet’s iconic characters including Godfather Drosselmeyer, the evil Mouse Queen, the Snow Queen, Mother Ginger and her lively Gingersnaps, and of course the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier!
With stunning costumes, Tchaikovsky’s timeless music, and breathtaking choreography performed by Metropolitan Youth Ballet’s pre-professional company (formerly Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy) and special guest artists, this is a Nutcracker experience you won’t soon forget!
The fun doesn’t stop at the theatre doors! Visit the beautifully decorated lobby before and after the show for activities sure to keep everyone in the spirit of the season. Pick out a delicious treat at the Land of Sweets Bake Sale. Finish your holiday shopping in the Sugar Plum Boutique filled with Nutcrackers of all shapes and sizes, custom-decorated pointe shoes, ballerina ornaments, books, jewelry and more. Don't forget to take a few selfies, and have your photo taken with your favorite dancers at the Cast Meet & Greet!
