All Souls Unitarian Church announces a special concert celebrating the life of former organist Dorothy Huffman. To all those of us who knew, loved, and admired her -- and those numbers are legion! -- Dotty was a primal force in the musical life of Indianapolis. Her summer house concerts, with Dotty at her pedal harpsichord, were a hot ticket for many years. Two participants in some of those concerts were viol player Lara Turner and harpsichordist Tom Gerber, who are joined by IU Jacobs School of Music viol and cello professor Joanna Blendulf in an hour-long program of Baroque music on period instruments. Favorite pieces of Dotty and her family are featured: J.S. Bach's Sonata for Viol and Harpsichord in G major, and François Couperin's "Les Baricades Mistérieuses," as well as music for two viols by Marais and Telemann. All are welcome to this free concert!
