An Evening with Alice

4TH WALL PLAYERS PERFORMING AN EVENING WITH ALICE AT FONSECA THEATRE Theatre company combines classic literature with a modern flair. Dateline: INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA, April 2025 — The 4th Wall Players will be performing “An Evening with Alice”, a collection of one act plays, written by Alice Gerstenberg. The spring production will feature a total of six of Gerstenberg’s one acts with four directors contributing. Dr. Spike Morin-Wilson returns to the director’s chair for two of the one acts; “The Pot Boiler” and “Ever Young”. “The Pot Boiler” features an aspiring playwright learning firsthand from the most famous writer and director of the day, Tonya Pinikles Sud, and the audience gets a close up look at the inner workings of a show’s rehearsal process. “Ever Young” features four women in the twilight of their years, reminiscing about days gone by. Kelli Gibson, who has assistant directed the previous two 4th Wall shows, takes a step into the director’s seat with “Fourteen”, a show about an overstrung, high society mother who scrambles last minute with the chaos of trying to plan a dinner party. Breanna Helms will make her directing debut as well, taking charge of both “Overtones” and “The Unseen”. “Overtones” is a fascinating showcase of what we would like to say in forced social interactions as opposed to what we actually do. “The Unseen” features an affluent couple who have trouble holding onto any help, and their newest maid is trying her hardest to keep up with their constant, conflicting demands. Lot Turner will head the last of the shows, “He Said and She Said”, which is based on how quickly gossip and misinformation can travel, still an eerily relevant topic today. Performances will be at the Fonseca Theatre at 2508 W. Michigan St April 11-13. Friday and Saturday shows will be @ 8:00pm, with an additional Saturday afternoon performance at 4:00pm, and the final Sunday matinee will be @ 2pm. Tickets are $18 and will be available at the door, or you can pre-purchase on 4th Wall Players’ website https://www.4thwallplayers.org/tickets. There are also full season tickets available if you’re interested in catching all three of their shows in 2025 and want to save on overall cost. The 4th Wall Players was founded in 2011 by Alan Keith and Josh Gibson. More information about the performances can be found at facebook.com/Players4thWall.
