Salute to Veterans: 12th Annual Charity Golf Outing Benefiting At Ease Orchard
Participants will enjoy a full day of golf and fellowship while contributing to programs that offer hands-on training, farm-based education, and opportunities for career development in agriculture. Golfers can register as a four-person team for $600 or as individual players for $150. Registration includes a loaded goodie bag, boxed lunch, 18 holes of golf with cart, and an awards dinner. A limited number of sponsorships remain available, including Reception Sponsor ($4,000), Registration Sponsor ($3,500), Mulligan Package Sponsor ($400), and Hole Sponsors ($250). Donations of raffle prizes are also welcome and will be recognized during the event.
After 30 years of military service, including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, retired U.S. Army Colonel Joe Ricker now dedicates his life to helping veterans reconnect with purpose and community through farming. Drawing from his background in logistics, he leads two nonprofit organizations: At Ease Orchard, which focuses on beekeeping and regenerative land use, and Veterans IN Farming, which offers a broader agricultural focus across the Midwest. Ricker also partners with AgrAbility, a program that supports individuals with disabilities in agriculture.
“Farming offers veterans a sense of structure, purpose, and peace,” Ricker said. “This event helps fund the hands-on training and support that veterans need to make that transition.”
