TEXAS FOLKLIFE PRESENTS ACCORDION KINGS & QUEENS AT MILLER OUTDOOR THEATRE Saturday, June 7, 7pm Houston, TX (April 23, 2025) – Get ready to dance Houston! On Saturday, June 7, 7-10pm, the 36th annual Accordion Kings & Queens concert returns to Miller Outdoor Theatre. This year’s performers include Sean Ardoin, creator of Kreole Rock and Soul; the world beats of Brave Combo; and The Texas Sweethearts playing their musical fusion from the heart of the Rio Grande Valley. Headliner Sean Ardoin created Kreole Rock and Soul, a music genre that blends his Creole and Zydeco roots with rock, rhythm and blues, and soul. A five time GRAMMY nominee, Ardoin was most recently nominated in 2025 for his album “25: Back to My Roots,” celebrating his journey as a solo artist. Denton, Texas based Brave Combo burst onto the music scene 46 years ago and earned their first of two GRAMMY Awards for their album Polkasonic in 1999. The band embraces a diverse range of musical styles including polka, rock, Conjunto, blues and more. Brave Combo is renowned world-wide for their dance inspiring performances. Hailing from Weslaco in the southernmost tip of Texas, The Texas Sweethearts are an all-female group that musically celebrates their American and Mexican heritage. They perform a range of musical styles which include Tejano, country, conjunto, ranchera, and soft rock songs interpreted with a Tex Mex flair. Also performing are 2024 Big Squeeze Youth Ambassador Alyssa Villarreal and the soon to be named 2025 Big Squeeze Youth Ambassador.
