Keiki & Kai: Kailua Beach Ocean Month Experience
Join us for a free, family-friendly gathering created to celebrate the close of World Oceans Month with connection, creativity, and care for our coastline.
Bring the whole ‘ohana for a morning rooted in hands-on learning and meaningful fun.
We’ll begin with a guided beach cleanup alongside Global Preservation Initiative, where keiki and parents can collect microplastics from the shoreline. These pieces will become part of our next activity—a creative workshop where children will transform collected materials into meaningful keepsakes.
Using reclaimed materials and natural elements, each child will design a decorative piece to hold their favorite shells, rocks, and treasures.
It’s also the perfect time to refresh your shelves at home. Our Keiki Swap invites families to bring gently used toys and books ready for a new adventure. Trade for something “new to you” and keep the cycle of sharing going. Any unclaimed items will be donated to schools impacted by recent Oʻahu floods.
Step inside the Mālama Lounge at Kailua Beach Adventures for a wildlife conservation talk, featuring insights on Hawaiʻi’s marine ecosystems and ways we can all help protect them.
Ocean conservationist Carissa from Future Swell will be on site sharing knowledge and answering questions for both keiki and parents.
Enjoy a complimentary lunch provided by Nalu Health Bar, and capture the day through professional photography by PlanIt Branding—shared with all attendees after the event.
Come craft, learn, swap, clean, and celebrate the ocean together.
